Resurgence of Congress on the cards in Delhi; AAP may not get thumping majority

By Ashok Kumar

New Delhi elections are just round the corner and there is a tussle who will form the next Government. With the Bhartiya Janata Party voters list mechanism not withstanding, there are strong chances of Aam Aadmi Party my face the anti-incumbency factor.

There are strong indications that it’s not BJP, despite it’s infamous poll mechanism and help from CEC, but the surprise awaits is the re-birth of Congress in Delhi. There is a strong indication that all the good work, like the infrastructure generated by former Chief Minister, the late Sheila Dixit is being recognised by the masses.

Of course, the freebies forwarded by AAP government may have little impact on the electorate and may win some votes back to AAP but jailing of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia may not bear fruits. One very strong indication is that like Modi, Kejriwal too is not re-playing sitting MLA in most constituencies. A hint of virtual submission.

AAP my get some seats but majority not of the scale of last three times. Congress, riding on past performances and the fact its present leaders especially Rahul Gandhi’s mass contact programmes and performance in parliament, may chip in a dozen or two dozen seats. That will be a big gain for the Congress.
